Cooking hilsa fish


 Below is an easy and delicious way to cook hilsa fish.




 Ingredients:


 Hilsa fish – 4-6 pieces


 Mustard paste – 2 tbsp


 Chillies – 4-5 (whole)


 Turmeric powder – 1 tsp


 Salt – to taste


 Mustard oil – 3 tsp


 Water – half a cup



 Cooking method:


 1. First wash and clean the hilsa fish pieces.



 2. Make masala by mixing mustard paste, turmeric powder, salt and little water in a bowl.



 3. Now heat mustard oil in a pan.  When the oil is hot, coat the fish pieces with the masala mixture.



 4. Gently spread the fish in the pan and top with green chillies.



 5. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes, when the fish is soft add ½ cup of water and cook for another 5 minutes.



 6. When the water dries up and the oil rises to the top, you will know that the hilsa is cooked.




 Serving:


 Serve delicious hilsa fish with hot rice.


 Note: You can also use tomato or onion as per taste.
